I had been on a years' long hunt for good mayonnaise when I'd finally given up. I'm a mayo junkie, my favorite indulgence being a steamed artichoke with a side of mayo for dipping. Several years ago, I began the search for a good mayo - one free of canola oil, maybe even one made with quality eggs. I went through the ingredients of every jar in Wholefoods, Sprouts, and my hippy co-ops. Even those made with "olive oil" were also laced with canola oil. So for a while, I made my own. But it wasn't the same. I used local eggs which came from organic fed chickens roaming free in Northern California pastures - which was great - but I never got the consistency right. And for a conservationist like my self, having to toss leftover mayo every few days was torture. Then I discovered Primal Kitchen. Their mayo is made with avocado oil and cage-free, organic eggs. While I thought olive oil would be the healthiest choice, I've since learned that their avocado oil is GMO free, and contains antioxidants, healthy Omega fats, and micronutrients. Primal Kitchen is my wildest mayo dreams come true. After years of futile searching, my mayo hunt is officially over, and I can indulge in the richness of my local veggies being smothered in tasty, healthy goodness, all in a recyclable/reusable glass jar. Primal Kitchen makes a plethora of other products like salad dressing, oil, and protein products. I'm currently loving their salad dressings...
