In addition to acupuncture and eastern medicines,Sabrina Kirkland L.Ac uses "cupping" as a part of her practice.
While I laid face down on the warm bed, Sabrina assessed my energy and ailments. She then massaged my back with an invigorating, Chinese oil, Zheng Gu Shui, a blood mover in Chinese medicine.
Sabrina explained that there are two methods for cupping: stationary and running.
She prefers running the cups to stimulate the blood flow and lymphatic drainage. But stationary is used to work tight muscles.
Several cups were placed along my body. On the palms of my hands, the cupping works my heart channel and relieves anxiety.
She placed several stationary cups on my shoulders to relieve my tight muscles.
She put half a dozen cups along my spine, and moved them to stimulate the flow.
Sabrina explained that when she places the cups an inch and a half along the spine, it stimulates the physical organ.
When she places the cups three inches away from the spine, it stimulates the emotional aspect of that organ. Using both placements, the partitioner can stimulate the physical organ and relieve emotional stagnation.
Lastly, she placed the cups on my feet. The feet placement improves circulation.
Sabina tells me that the kidney channel is the only channel in the meridian system that's on the bottom of the foot.
I'm an information sponge, so during my treatment I learned about the body and treatments from the perspective of eastern methodology.
I'm definitely coming back for more treatments. Not only does it help me reduce toxins, but Sabrina's office is a haven for relaxation.
